Morphometric Analytical Study on the Alltration of Implantation of Combined with Tooth Ash and Plaster of Paris in Vital Tissues


Abstract
The pvrpose of this study was observe the histopathologic tissue reactions and morphometric analysis of the implantation of tooth ash, plaster of paris mixture in vital tissues. For this study, mongrel dogs were used as experimental animals.
Under general anesthesia with Ketamine HCI(40m§¢/§¸ body wt.) injection, both side of mandibular ramus were exposed, bone degects were made both side with #4 round bur. Experimental site, one side was filled with the combined tooth ash and plaster of paris(2:1 wt.) and other site sutured without any application.
On the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 12th and 24th week after experiments, specimens were taken, fixed decalcified in Plank Rychlo solution, embedded in paraffin, sectioned 6~8§­ in thickness, stained with hematoxylin-eosin stain method. And examined under the light microscope.
For the morphometric analysis, images of the tissues containing the implanted materials were imputed with the closed circuit camera to pentium personal computer with the image analyzer(Cybernet U.S.A) program, 5 fields(33 multiplication of Light microscope) total area of implanted materials were measured and the proportions to the total pixel area were calaulated as percontages.
Attained results as follow.
1. The severity of inflammatory cell infiltration was reached to the maximum level on the 3rd week after experiments. And inflammatory cell idfiltration was reduced time goes on, disappeared on the 5th week after experiments.
2. Implanted materials were encapsulated with fibrous tissues.
3. Implanted matelial was devided and septated to small particles by the infiltrative growth of fibrous, and osteoid tissues.
4. On the 24th week after experiments, the implanted materials were devided into various small particles and directly fused to, or embeded in bones.
5. In morphometric analysis, the comparisons between the area measements of the implanted on each experimental group particles were statistically shows no significance
